FGFBP3
Description
The FGFBP3 (fibroblast growth factor binding protein 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 10.
FGFBP3 binds to FGF2, preventing its interaction with heparin and inhibiting its immobilization on extracellular matrix glycosaminoglycans. This release of FGF2 allows its activation of FGFR signaling, ultimately resulting in increased vascular permeability.
FGFBP3 is also known as C10orf13, FGF-BP3.
