FGF12

Description

The FGF12 (fibroblast growth factor 12) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 3.

Fibroblast growth factor 12 is a protein in humans encoded by the FGF12 gene. It belongs to the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family, which has diverse functions in cell growth, development, and repair. Unlike most FGF members, FGF12 lacks a signal sequence for secretion and instead localizes to the nucleus. Its specific function remains unclear, but two variations of the protein have been identified.

FGF12 is also known as DEE47, EIEE47, FGF12B, FHF1.
