FEZ2

Description

The FEZ2 (fasciculation and elongation protein zeta 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 2.

The human FEZ2 gene encodes for Fasciculation and elongation protein zeta-2, a protein essential for proper axon bundling and elongation. It is similar to the C. elegans unc-76 gene, and the rat zygin II gene. FEZ2 interacts with Protein kinase Mζ.

Involved in the growth and bundling of axons.

FEZ2 is also known as HUM3CL.
