FCRL5

Description

The FCRL5 (Fc receptor like 5) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

Fc receptor-like protein 5 is a protein encoded by the FCRL5 gene in humans. It is also known as CD307. FCRL5 is involved in B-cell responses to antigens, acting as a coreceptor that can either enhance or suppress B-cell signaling. It interacts with CR2 and CD19, suggesting a role in B-cell signaling pathways. FCRL5 may also be involved in B-cell development and differentiation, and could serve as a marker for different B-cell stages.

FCRL5 may contribute to the development and differentiation of B cells in peripheral lymphoid organs, potentially serving as markers for distinct B cell stages. It may also play a regulatory role in marginal zone B cells, and could be involved in fertilization, although this is based on similarity to other proteins.

FCRL5 is also known as BXMAS1, CD307, CD307e, FCRH5, IRTA2, PRO820.
