FBXL15

Description

The FBXL15 (F-box and leucine rich repeat protein 15) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 10.

FBXL15 is a substrate recognition component of the SCF (SKP1-CUL1-F-box protein) E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complex. It promotes the ubiquitination and degradation of SMURF1, a negative regulator of BMP signaling, thereby positively regulating BMP signaling. This function is essential for dorsal/ventral pattern formation and bone mass maintenance. FBXL15 also mediates the ubiquitination of SMURF2 and WWP2, suggesting additional roles in cellular processes.

FBXL15 is also known as FBXO37, Fbl15, JET, PSD.
