FANCD2
Description
The FANCC gene provides instructions for making a protein that plays a critical role in DNA repair. This protein is part of a complex network of proteins involved in the Fanconi anemia (FA) pathway, which is essential for repairing damaged DNA, particularly double-strand breaks. Mutations in the FANCC gene can lead to Fanconi anemia, a rare genetic disorder characterized by bone marrow failure, developmental abnormalities, and an increased risk of cancer.
