EPHA6

Description

The EPHA6 (EPH receptor A6) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 3.

Ephrin type-A receptor 6 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the EPHA6 gene.

EPHA6 is a receptor tyrosine kinase that binds to GPI-anchored ephrin-A family ligands on neighboring cells. This interaction triggers contact-dependent bidirectional signaling, with 'forward signaling' downstream of the receptor and 'reverse signaling' downstream of the ephrin ligand.

EPHA6 is also known as EHK-2, EHK2, EK12, EPA6, HEK12, PRO57066.
