ENTPD8

Description

The ENTPD8 (ectonucleoside triphosphate diphosphohydrolase 8) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 9.

ENTPD8, also known as E-NTPDase 8, NTPDase 8, or NTPDase8, is a canalicular ectonucleoside NTPDase that plays a crucial role in the liver's NTPDase activity. It is responsible for breaking down nucleotides by removing their gamma- and beta-phosphate groups. This activity helps regulate the concentration of extracellular nucleotides, which are important signaling molecules. ENTPD8 acts on ATP, ADP, UTP, and UDP but not AMP.

ENTPD8 is also known as E-NTPDase, GLSR2492, NTPDase-8, UNQ2492.
