ENAH

Description

The ENAH (ENAH actin regulator) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

ENAH may refer to the human gene encoding the Ena/VASP protein, which plays a critical role in regulating cytoskeletal dynamics and cell polarity.

Ena/VASP proteins, including ENAH, play crucial roles in various cellular processes that depend on cytoskeletal remodeling and cell polarity. These processes include axon guidance and the dynamics of lamellipodia and filopodia in migrating cells. ENAH specifically promotes the formation of F-actin-rich outgrowths in fibroblasts, acting synergistically with BAIAP2-alpha and downstream of NTN1 to stimulate filipodia formation.

ENAH is also known as ENA, MENA, NDPP1.
