Description of eddm3b
Ependymoma 3B (eddm3b) is a rare, high-grade glioma that occurs in the brain and spinal cord. It is characterized by the overgrowth of ependymal cells, which line the ventricles and central canal of the nervous system. Eddm3b tumors are typically aggressive and can cause a range of neurological symptoms, including headaches, seizures, and difficulty with movement or speech.
Associated Diseases
Eddm3b has been associated with several genetic syndromes, including:
- Li-Fraumeni syndrome
- Gorlin syndrome
- Turcot syndrome
These syndromes increase the risk of developing a variety of cancers, including ependymomas.
