ECD

Description

The ECD (ecdysoneless cell cycle regulator) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 10.

ECD may refer to:

ECD regulates the stability and function of p53/TP53, potentially by collaborating with TXNIP to inhibit MDM2-mediated p53/TP53 degradation. It might participate in transcriptional regulation, demonstrating intrinsic transactivation activity enhanced by EP300 in vitro. It could act as a transcriptional activator essential for expressing glycolytic genes. ECD plays a role in controlling cell cycle progression by potentially disrupting Rb-E2F binding and leading to the transcriptional activation of E2F proteins. Its cell cycle regulatory function might depend on its association with the R2TP complex mediated by RUVBL1. Additionally, it may contribute to regulating pre-mRNA splicing.

ECD is also known as GCR2, HSGT1, SGT1.
