DZIP3

Description

The DZIP3 (DAZ interacting zinc finger protein 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 3.

DZIP3 is a human protein encoded by the DZIP3 gene. It functions as an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase.

DZIP3 acts as an E3 ubiquitin ligase, facilitating the attachment of ubiquitin to target proteins. This process marks the proteins for degradation by the proteasome. DZIP3 receives ubiquitin from an E2 enzyme in a thioester form and directly transfers it to specific substrates. DZIP3 also possesses the ability to bind RNA.

DZIP3 is also known as PPP1R66, UURF2, hRUL138.
