DUSP23

Description

The DUSP23 (dual specificity phosphatase 23) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

DUSP23, also known as LDP-3, is an enzyme that removes phosphate groups from proteins. It is encoded by the DUSP23 gene in humans.

DUSP23 is a protein phosphatase that removes phosphate groups from proteins modified at tyrosine (Tyr) and serine/threonine (Ser/Thr) residues. In laboratory settings, it has been observed to remove phosphate groups from p44-ERK1 (MAPK3), but not from p54 SAPK-beta (MAPK10). Notably, DUSP23 can boost the activity of JNK and p38 (MAPK14).

DUSP23 is also known as DUSP25, LDP-3, LDP3, MOSP, VHZ.
