DUS2

Description

The DUS2 (dihydrouridine synthase 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 16.

DUS2 is a dihydrouridine synthase that catalyzes the NADPH-dependent synthesis of dihydrouridine, a modified base found in the D-loop of most tRNAs. This enzyme negatively regulates the activation of EIF2AK2/PKR.

DUS2 is also known as DUS2L, SMM1, URLC8.
