DSTYK

Description

The DSTYK (dual serine/threonine and tyrosine protein kinase) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

DSTYK acts as a positive regulator of ERK phosphorylation following fibroblast growth factor-receptor activation. It also plays a role in regulating both caspase-dependent and caspase-independent cell death. In the skin, DSTYK is crucial in suppressing caspase-dependent apoptosis in response to UV stress within various dermal cell types.

DSTYK is also known as CAKUT1, DustyPK, HDCMD38P, RHDNS1, RIP5, RIPK5, SPG23.
