DPPA5

Description

The DPPA5 (developmental pluripotency associated 5) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 6.

DPPA5 plays a role in maintaining the pluripotency of embryonic stem (ES) cells. While not essential for the self-renewal of pluripotent ES cells or the development of germ cells, it associates with specific target messenger RNA molecules.

DPPA5 is also known as ESG1.
