DOLPP1

Description

The DOLPP1 (dolichyldiphosphatase 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 9.

DOLPP1 is essential for proper protein glycosylation, a crucial process for protein folding, stability, and function. It ensures adequate levels of dolichol-linked oligosaccharides, molecules that serve as building blocks for N-glycans. DOLPP1 efficiently breaks down dolichyl pyrophosphate, a key component in this process, while also having a much weaker activity towards dolichyl monophosphate. It doesn't interact with phosphatidate, another important lipid molecule.

DOLPP1 is also known as LSFR2.
