DOK5

Description

The DOK5 (docking protein 5) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 20.

Docking protein 5 is a protein encoded by the DOK5 gene in humans. It belongs to the DOK family of membrane proteins, which are adapter proteins involved in signal transduction. DOK5 interacts with phosphorylated receptor tyrosine kinases, mediating neurite outgrowth and activation of the MAP kinase pathway. Notably, unlike other DOK family proteins, it does not interact with RASGAP. It has been shown to interact with RET proto-oncogene.

DOK5 is also known as C20orf180, IRS-6, IRS6.
