DNTT

Description

The DNTT (DNA nucleotidylexotransferase) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 10.

DNTT is a template-independent DNA polymerase that adds deoxynucleoside 5'-triphosphate randomly to the 3'-end of DNA. It plays a critical role in the immune system, specifically in the maturation of B and T cells by adding nucleotides at the junction (N region) of rearranged immunoglobulin heavy chain and T-cell receptor gene segments.

DNTT is also known as TDT.
