The DNPEP (aspartyl aminopeptidase) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 2.

Aspartyl aminopeptidase is an enzyme produced by the human DNPEP gene. This enzyme preferentially cleaves acidic amino acids, particularly aspartic acid, from the N-terminus of proteins. It is thought to be localized within cells and participates in the general metabolism of intracellular proteins.

Aspartyl aminopeptidase is an enzyme that shows a preference for acidic amino acids, particularly aspartic acid, at the N-terminus of proteins and peptides. It is believed to be involved in the breakdown of intracellular proteins and peptides, playing a role in general intracellular protein metabolism.
