DISP1

Description

The DISP1 (dispatched RND transporter family member 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

DISP1 plays a role in hedgehog (Hh) signaling. It regulates the release and extracellular accumulation of cholesterol-modified hedgehog proteins, which is necessary for efficient Hh signal production. DISP1 works in conjunction with SCUBE2 to enhance SHH secretion.

DISP1 is also known as DISPA.
