Description
The DIP2A (disco interacting protein 2 homolog A) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 21.
Disco-interacting protein 2 homolog A is a protein that in humans is encoded by the DIP2A gene.
DIP2A catalyzes the de novo synthesis of acetyl-CoA in vitro. It promotes acetylation of CTTN, potentially by providing the acetyl donor, ensuring proper dendritic spine morphology and synaptic transmission. DIP2A binds to follistatin-related protein FSTL1, acting as a cell surface receptor for FSTL1. This interaction contributes to AKT activation and subsequent FSTL1-induced survival and function of endothelial cells and cardiac myocytes.
