DERA

Description

The DERA (deoxyribose-phosphate aldolase) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 12.

DERA or DERA is a human gene.

DERA catalyzes a reversible reaction between acetaldehyde and D-glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate to produce 2-deoxy-D-ribose 5-phosphate. It plays a role in stress granule assembly and can potentially allow ATP production from extracellular deoxyinosine under energy deprivation.

DERA is also known as CGI-26, DEOC.
