DENND6A

Description

The DENND6A (DENN domain containing 6A) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 3.

DENND6A acts as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) for RAB14, playing a crucial role in the endocytic recycling pathway. This pathway is essential for the regulation of ADAM10 transport, the shedding of N-cadherin/CDH2 by ADAM9 or ADAM10, and the maintenance of cell-cell junctions. DENND6A's role in this process includes facilitating the recruitment of RAB14 to recycling endosomes.

DENND6A is also known as AFI1A, FAM116A.
