DENND1B

Description

The DENND1B (DENN domain containing 1B) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

DENND1B acts as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) for RAB35, promoting the exchange of GDP to GTP and activating RAB35. This activity regulates T-cell receptor (TCR) internalization in TH2 cells, influencing cytokine production. DENND1B controls TCR internalization by mediating clathrin-mediated endocytosis through its interaction with the adapter protein complex 2 (AP-2) and its GEF activity. Dysregulation of DENND1B leads to impaired TCR down-modulation and recycling, ultimately affecting cytokine production in TH2 cells.

DENND1B is also known as C1ORF18, C1orf218, FAM31B.
