DDX31

Description

The DDX31 (DEAD-box helicase 31) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 9.

DDX31, also known as DEAD (Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp) box polypeptide 31, is a human gene. DEAD box proteins are characterized by the conserved motif Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp (DEAD) and are putative RNA helicases. They are involved in various cellular processes, including translation initiation, nuclear and mitochondrial splicing, and ribosome and spliceosome assembly. Some DEAD box proteins are associated with embryogenesis, spermatogenesis, cellular growth, and division. DDX31 encodes a member of this family, but its specific function remains undetermined. Alternative splicing of the DDX31 gene produces two transcript variants.

DDX31 is also known as PPP1R25.
