DDX10

Description

The DDX10 (DEAD-box helicase 10) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11.

DDX10 is an enzyme encoded by the DDX10 gene in humans. It belongs to the DEAD box protein family, characterized by the conserved Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp (DEAD) motif. These proteins are implicated in various cellular processes involving RNA secondary structure alteration, such as translation initiation, nuclear and mitochondrial splicing, and ribosome and spliceosome assembly. DDX10 is believed to be involved in ribosome assembly. Fusion of the DDX10 gene with the NUP98 gene, caused by chromosome translocation, is associated with myeloid malignancies.

DDX10 is also known as Dbp4, HRH-J8.
