DCLK2

Description

The DCLK2 (doublecortin like kinase 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 4.

DCLK2 is a protein kinase with a significantly reduced affinity for calcium and calmodulin compared to other members of the CaMK family. It is thought to play a role in down-regulating CRE-dependent gene activation by phosphorylating CRTC2/TORC2, a CREB coactivator, and keeping it in the cytoplasm.

DCLK2 is also known as CL2, CLICK-II, CLICK2, CLIK2, DCAMKL2, DCDC3, DCDC3B, DCK2.
