DCAF5

Description

The DCAF5 (DDB1 and CUL4 associated factor 5) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 14.

DCAF5 acts as a substrate receptor for the CUL4-DDB1 E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complex (CRL4). This complex, CRL4-DCAF5, plays a role in the ubiquitination of a group of methylated non-histone proteins. These proteins include SOX2, DNMT1, and E2F1.

DCAF5 is also known as BCRG2, BCRP2, D14S1461E, WDR22.
