DBP

Description

The DBP (D-box binding PAR bZIP transcription factor) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 19.

DBP may refer to: D site-binding protein, Albumin D box-binding protein, Albumin D-element-binding protein, Tax-responsive enhancer element-binding protein 302

DBP, a transcriptional activator, binds to a specific DNA sequence (5'-RTTAYGTAAY-3') found in the promoter regions of genes like albumin, CYP2A4, and CYP2A5. While not critical for establishing the circadian rhythm, it influences the expression of genes controlled by the circadian clock. DBP itself might be regulated by components of the circadian pacemaker, potentially affecting the length of the circadian cycle and sleep patterns.

DBP is also known as DABP, taxREB302.
