DBF4B

Description

The DBF4B (DBF4B-CDC7 kinase regulatory subunit) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 17.

DBF4B is a regulatory subunit for CDC7, activating its kinase activity and playing a crucial role in DNA replication and cell proliferation. It's required for the progression of S and M phases of the cell cycle. The CDC7-DBF4B complex selectively phosphorylates the MCM2 subunit at 'Ser-40', thereby regulating the initiation of DNA replication.

DBF4B is also known as ASKL1, CHIFB, DRF1, ZDBF1B.
