DAGLB

Description

The DAGLB (diacylglycerol lipase beta) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 7.

DAGLB is a lipase that plays a role in the production of 2-arachidonoylglycerol (2-AG), a key endocannabinoid. It preferentially hydrolyzes diacylglycerols (DAGs) at the sn-1 position in a calcium-dependent manner, releasing arachidonic acid (AA). AA is then used for the production of eicosanoids by cyclooxygenases (COX1/2). DAGLB also functions as a triacylglycerol lipase in macrophages, supporting their metabolic and signaling needs.

DAGLB is also known as DAGLBETA, KCCR13L.
