Description

Cystathionine beta-synthase (CBS) deficiency is an inherited metabolic disorder that affects the production of a substance called homocysteine. In CBS deficiency, the body is unable to produce enough CBS enzyme, which is necessary for the conversion of homocysteine to cystathionine.
