CWC15

Description

The CWC15 (CWC15 spliceosome associated protein homolog) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11.

The CWC15 gene encodes the protein CWC15 homolog. This protein is involved in interactions with CDC5L. The gene's location and details can be found in the UCSC Genome Browser.

CWC15 plays a crucial role in pre-mRNA splicing as a component of the spliceosome. It's part of the PRP19-CDC5L complex, essential for activating pre-mRNA splicing. CWC15 is also involved in the splicing of U12-type introns in pre-mRNAs as a component of the minor spliceosome. These functions are supported by various studies (PubMed:28502770, PubMed:28076346, PubMed:20176811, PubMed:33509932).

CWC15 is also known as AD002, C11orf5, Cwf15, HSPC148, ORF5.
