CUL9

Description

The CUL9 (cullin 9) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 6.

Cullin-9 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the CUL9 gene. PARC (gene) has been shown to interact with P53.

CUL9 is a core component of the Cul9-RING ubiquitin-protein ligase complex, which mediates ubiquitination and subsequent degradation of BIRC5. This complex is required for maintaining microtubule dynamics and genome integrity. CUL9 acts downstream of the 3M complex, which inhibits CUL9 activity, preventing ubiquitination of BIRC5. CUL9 is a cytoplasmic anchor protein in the p53/TP53-associated protein complex, regulating the subcellular localization of p53/TP53 and subsequent function.

CUL9 is also known as H7AP1, PARC.
