CSDC2

Description

The CSDC2 (cold shock domain containing C2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 22.

CSDC2 (Cold shock domain-containing protein C2) is a human protein encoded by the CSDC2 gene. The gene's location and details can be found on the UCSC Genome Browser.

CSDC2, also known as PIPPin, is an RNA-binding protein that specifically binds to the 3'-UTR ends of histone H1 and H3.3 mRNAs, including the polyadenylation signal. This interaction may play a critical role in negatively regulating the production of histone variants in the developing brain.

CSDC2 is also known as PIPPIN, dJ347H13.2.
