CREBZF

Description

The CREBZF (CREB/ATF bZIP transcription factor) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11.

CREBZF strongly activates transcription when bound to HCFC1. It suppresses the expression of HSV proteins in cells infected with the virus, depending on its interaction with HCFC1. Additionally, CREBZF inhibits the transcriptional activation of CREB3 by HCFC1 and reduces the amount of CREB3 in the cell. It also downregulates the expression of certain cellular genes in cells that express CREBZF.

CREBZF is also known as SMILE, ZF.
