CREBL2

Description

The CREBL2 (cAMP responsive element binding protein like 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 12.

CREBL2 is thought to regulate the activity of CREB1, a protein involved in gene expression. It plays a role in the differentiation of fat cells and might also be involved in the cell cycle. Its location on a chromosome frequently deleted in cancers suggests that CREBL2 may act as a tumor suppressor.
