CREB3L4

Description

The CREB3L4 (cAMP responsive element binding protein 3 like 4) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

CREB3L4 is a transcriptional activator involved in the unfolded protein response (UPR). It binds to the UPR element (UPRE) but not to the CRE element. CREB3L4 preferentially binds to the DNA consensus sequence 5'-T[GT]ACGT[GA][GT]-3' and activates transcription from UPRE. It also binds to the NF-kappa-B site and activates transcription from NF-kappa-B-containing regulatory elements.

CREB3L4 is also known as AIBZIP, ATCE1, CREB3, CREB4, JAL, hJAL.
