CPNE4

Description

The CPNE4 (copine 4) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 3.

Copine-4 is a protein encoded by the CPNE4 gene in humans. Calcium-dependent membrane-binding proteins like Copine-4 may regulate events at the interface between the cell membrane and cytoplasm. The CPNE4 gene is one of several encoding calcium-dependent proteins with two N-terminal type II C2 domains and an integrin A domain-like sequence at the C-terminus.

Copine-4 is likely involved in intracellular processes triggered by calcium ions, potentially by binding to phospholipids.

CPNE4 is also known as COPN4, CPN4.
