CORO1B

Description

The CORO1B (coronin 1B) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11.

Coronin, actin binding protein, 1B, also known as CORO1B, is a protein encoded by the CORO1B gene. It belongs to the coronin family, which are WD repeat-containing actin-binding proteins that regulate cell motility. Coronin 1B is enriched at the leading edge of migrating cells and plays a role in regulating actin dynamics. It has been shown to antagonize cortactin, remodel Arp2/3-containing actin branches, and coordinate Arp2/3 complex and cofilin activities. Phosphorylation of coronin 1B by protein kinase C regulates its interaction with Arp2/3 and cell motility.

CORO1B is also known as CORONIN-2.
