CNTROB

Description

The CNTROB (centrobin, centriole duplication and spindle assembly protein) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 17.

CNTROB encodes a protein found in humans that is associated with centrioles. It localizes specifically to the daughter centriole and is vital for both centriole duplication and the process of cell division called cytokinesis.

CNTROB is essential for centriole duplication. Disrupting this process leads to problems with cytokinesis, the division of the cell's cytoplasm.

CNTROB is also known as LIP8, PP1221.
