Description
The CNTN5 (contactin 5) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11.
CNTN5, also known as Contactin-5, plays a role in cell surface interactions during the development of the nervous system. It contributes to neurite outgrowth in cerebral cortical neurons, but not in hippocampal neurons. Evidence suggests its involvement in neuronal activity within the auditory system.
CNTN5 is also known as HNB-2s, NB-2.
