CNKSR3

Description

The CNKSR3 (CNKSR family member 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 6.

CNKSR3 is a protein encoded by the CNKSR3 gene in humans.

CNKSR3 plays a crucial role in regulating sodium transport across epithelial cells. It influences aldosterone-induced sodium transport and the activity of the epithelial sodium channel (ENaC) by controlling the amount of ENaC present on the cell surface. CNKSR3 acts as a scaffold protein, bringing together various components to form an ENaC-regulatory complex (ERC).

CNKSR3 is also known as CNK3, CNK3/IPCEF1, MAGI1.
