CNEP1R1

Description

The CNEP1R1 (CTD nuclear envelope phosphatase 1 regulatory subunit 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 16.

CNEP1R1 forms a complex with the serine/threonine protein phosphatase CTDNEP1, which dephosphorylates and potentially activates LPIN1 and LPIN2. These phosphatidate phosphatases control fatty acid metabolism by converting phosphatidic acid to diacylglycerol. CNEP1R1 may indirectly influence the lipid composition of nuclear and endoplasmic reticulum membranes, contributing to proper nuclear membrane structure and dynamics. It may also indirectly regulate the production of lipid droplets and triacylglycerol.

CNEP1R1 is also known as C16orf69, NEP1-R1, NEP1R1, TMEM188, TMP125.
