CLK3

Description

The CLK3 (CDC like kinase 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 15.

CLK3 may refer to:

CLK3 is a dual specificity kinase that acts on both serine/threonine and tyrosine-containing substrates. It phosphorylates serine- and arginine-rich (SR) proteins of the spliceosomal complex, potentially playing a role in a network of regulatory mechanisms that allow SR proteins to control RNA splicing. CLK3 can also cause SR proteins to redistribute from speckles to a diffuse nucleoplasmic distribution. Specifically, it phosphorylates SRSF1 and SRSF3, and regulates the alternative splicing of tissue factor (F3) pre-mRNA in endothelial cells.

CLK3 is also known as PHCLK3, PHCLK3/152.
