CLIP4

Description

The CLIP4 (CAP-Gly domain containing linker protein family member 4) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 2.

CLIP4, encoded by the human CLIP4 gene, is characterized by ankyrin repeats and CAP-Gly domains. The protein structure primarily consists of random coil with alpha helices. CLIP4 mRNA is mainly expressed in the adrenal cortex and atrioventricular node. The presence of conserved domains and paralogs suggests a possible role in microtubule regulation. The CLIP4 gene is located on chromosome 2 (2p23) spanning 92,968 base pairs and containing 23 exons. The protein is 705 amino acids long with a slightly basic isoelectric point (8.62 pI).

CLIP4 is likely involved in microtubule regulation based on its conserved domains and paralogs. CLIP4 mRNA is primarily expressed in the adrenal cortex and atrioventricular node.

CLIP4 is also known as RSNL2.
