CLIP1

Description

The CLIP1 (CAP-Gly domain containing linker protein 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 12.

CAP-Gly domain containing linker protein 1, also known as CLIP1, is a protein which in humans is encoded by the CLIP1 gene. CLIP1 has been shown to interact with IQGAP1, Mammalian target of rapamycin and PAFAH1B1.

CLIP1 binds to the plus end of microtubules, playing a crucial role in regulating microtubule dynamics. This includes promoting microtubule growth and bundling. CLIP1 further links cytoplasmic vesicles to microtubules, facilitating intracellular vesicle trafficking. It also plays a role in macropinocytosis and endosome trafficking.

CLIP1 is also known as CLIP, CLIP-170, CLIP170, CYLN1, RSN.
