CLEC2A

Description

The CLEC2A (C-type lectin domain family 2 member A) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 12.

CLEC2A, also known as KLRC1, plays a crucial role in modulating the expansion of T-cells. By enhancing the expression of anti-apoptotic proteins, it promotes the survival of TCR-stimulated T-cells, leading to their increased proliferation. CLEC2A may also influence the ability of T-cells to migrate to lymph nodes by regulating the expression of SELL (selectin L). Additionally, CLEC2A facilitates the immune recognition of keratinocytes through its interaction with the receptor KLRF2, triggering natural killer cell-mediated cytotoxicity.

CLEC2A is also known as INPE5792, KACL, PILAR, UNQ5792.
