CISD3

Description

The CISD3 (CDGSH iron sulfur domain 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 17.

CISD3 facilitates the transfer of iron-sulfur clusters to FDX1 and FDX2. It plays a critical role in regulating mitochondrial iron levels, ensuring a balance of free iron and reactive oxygen species. This, in turn, promotes overall mitochondrial health and function.

CISD3 is also known as MiNT, Miner2.
